Just saying the "disastrous" comment was a little excessive. I've seen a few reviews (you can find them on IMDB, no need for me to cut and paste) that are quite favorable. I hadn't heard of Harry Brown until carrobin brought it up. I'm usually on top of what's screening in Toronto during the fest. If Michael Caine had been in an absolute disaster of a film I probably would have heard about it. But, maybe not.

A literal disaster film, 2012, is getting both scathing reviews and praise for being wildly over-the-top. I may go see this one.

I cannot see John Cusack as an action hero. Joan Cusack, yes.

I was going to say, John Cusack's done an action hero before, but suddenly realized there's a very very real chance I have once again confused him with Matthew Broderick.

No - wasn't he in Grosse Point Blank? That was action hero-ish.

I thought that was Broderick. Damn. Who was in Godzilla? Election? Being John Malkovich? Say Anything? Pretty in... crap, I'm adding another layer of confusion now.

Godzilla and Election: Broderick.

Being John Malkovich
and Say Anything...: Cusack.

Pretty in Pink
: Andrew McCarthy. Or Jon Cryer.

Lady, thanks for reminding me of Grosse Point Blank. One of my favourites.

2012
has opened here and so has Snatch. Smile They seem to like the good ones to mature for a few years and bring in the cheesy ones right away, while they are hot.

It's Cryer. Back in the day, I used to get the three of them confused, but Cyrer's kind of gone off radar altogether, comparatively.

I also tend to get Meathead and Opie confused, which makes The Sure Thing double poison for me. And when I learned that both Cusack and Broderick were in Road to Wellsville, I knew to avoid the movie like the plague, not merely because I disliked the book, but because the confusion involved might cause me to explode like a white rat at a Ramones concert.

Jon Cryer didn't get small, the pictures did. He's now raking in the dough on TV.

Unless you watch one of the most popular television shows in the nation, Two and a Half Men, in which Cryer costars with Charlie Sheen.

Now Andrew McCarthy. That's off the radar.

Although the book came in a nifty "cereal box" package, which is probably worth something now.

My mother's addicted to that show. I saw a lot of it when I was in Maine.

I'm addicted to it also. Very good and very funny. I wish these quality comedy shows would can the canned laughter. Just horrible. I always wondered what Cryer ahd done before. Now I know.
