| So the "huge hit" was all in your head. Next time get your facts straight. |

| Can't quite figure out why some people are so invested in calling Marc out on comments he made years ago (Rod, The Beaver, "c**t," etc.). Get a life. |

I'm just miffed that I predicted The Beaver would be a huge hit, sweep the Academy Awards, and usher in an era of global peace, but no one even noticed or called me on it a year later.

Hey, it grossed ten times as much on its opening weekend than The Beaver did in it's entire run! Of course it also cost $80 million more to make. |

Didn't know you reviewed Cloud Atlas, Marc. From the reviews I've read that panned the movie they mention how the movie messed up the book.
Of course I never saw The Beaver, for two good reasons. One, I hate Jodie Foster, and her acting. (What did Hinckley ever see in her? He really was crazy. ) Two, I am certainly not a fan of Mel Gibson |

| I thought The Beaver was remarkably mediocre, even though I wanted to like it, because despite Gibson's atrocious behavior I think he's very talented, especially as a director. |

It's exhausting to come here and attempt to share thoughts on new films only to be dragged into petty arguments with people who seem hellbent on making me justify shit I said several years ago. But given that this site was my idea and I created it (with the support of most of you), I've been unwilling to give it up easily. I do keep coming back because I feel Third Eye desperately needs input on current cinema. As I've stated in recent weeks, there is only a half dozen people here who see new releases on a steady basis and that's not healthy for a website devoted to the movies. |

Pot meet kettle. You've done the same thing Billy, using one of the same examples I did (Chicago). But I'll let it go. |

I saw a guilty pleasure: Alex Cross.........because I like Tyler Perry and detective thrillers and thought it might be captivating. It was.......much more than what is seen on similar tv shows in the same genre.
There were some interesting German men and Asian women in supporting roles. But the bad guy.....Matthew Fox (I never watched lost so don't know the kind of characters he's played.) was extremely fearsome. Intense, expert knowledge, wiry. I made an unlikely connection between him and Lance Armstrong.......who has been in the news lately. The physical similarity.........and that intensity......scary. |

It isn't a pattern with Billy. |

Marc,
Come on. Is it a pattern with me, or with anyone? Do we bring this up every time you post on a movie? Billy's done what we've done, and no more frequently or infrequently.
But in any case, peace. I'm glad your posting here more and getting more involved with discussions again. Makes me happy, because you're one of the best contributors we've got. |

Seven Psychopaths is well worth watching. Takes place in LA with a lot of Hollywood. I found the bright and sunny cinematography of this part of southern California a pleasure to watch. Of course there are scenes that aren't bright and sunny. Slaughter takes place in a lot of venues.
The film opens on a bridge where a killing is supposed to take place and a killing does take place. When it does the count of psychopaths starts with a line above the psycho that says Psychopath #1.
Colin Farrell (Marty) is a screenwriter who is having writer's block. He is going to write a movie about psychopaths and with his friend Sam Rockwell (Billy) they start to fill out a plot. Billy has his own ideas about what the screen play should involve and especially the final scenes. Anyway the screen play is the movie, or maybe not??? And what an enjoyable movie it is. Mayhem and laughs. Blood, bad guys and goofballs. I loved it. It moves right along. I found the final scenes a little bit stretched but no problem. The acting was excellent all around with Walken being fantastic in his role. Has to be nominated for an Oscar.
Did I mention how funny it was. It's sort of a dark version of the Three Stooges or the Ritz Bros. |

I'll just say this: there are times when you make all that relevant. For instance, there are reasons why we have only half a dozen people posting here about... well, anything. The "C thing" alone drove off about four.
I have always valued your movie comments, even though we have vastly different tastes.
I am also eagerly awaiting the last third of your review of Blood Simple on the Coen Forum, but that is an entirely different matter. |

I was having a problem during much of the year finding movies that looked like they were worth watching, which is why ParaNorman was my best movie of the year for a while. It's been a decent year for independent films that don't make it here. However, Looper and Argo were great and the rest of the year looks promising. |

| Argo was very good and I plan to see Looper soon. Too bad the movie with Chelsea Handler, Fun Size is supposedly a dud. The review I read said that Handler did not deserve the dull role she was given as the non-comic mother. The comedy of the movie was not funny for anyone over 8 years old. |
