Oh yeah, welcome back.
Yeah...but I loved the vibe. We obtained tickets to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and leaving the theatre, we walked over to 42nd...it was fantastic.
I'm funny about crowds, but the crowd there was so energetic, even at midnight. I'm a nightowl anyhow, and that was like coming home, in many ways.
LOL Thanks Gary. |

Quote: does Francois Cluzet look like the French Dustin Hoffman?
This has never occurred to me.......their physical styles, voices, expressions are quite different. Cluzet was a stand-out in Little White Lies. I'd see him in anything.
Marc........I'm glad you saw Headhunters. The book is even better.
Mitty.......I've read other Nesbos, too.......but Headhunters is unique for its humor and there's no troubled detective in this. I do think Nesbo is the most gory of the Scandinavian authors........but he's so smart and he writes page-turners. |

So, it isn't a Harry Hole then. hmmm, ok. I checked Amazon, and I can stream it for free with our Amazon Prime membership. Hopefully we'll get to it in the next couple of days. Thanks. |

Looper is a well written, action-packed thriller. Engaging.

For an even better foreign thriller try Headhunters from a book by the Norwegian author Jo Nesbo. Humor is added to the mix.
Never heard a whisper about this film. It's my next viewing. Where do you folks hear about movies like this? It sounds awesome. |

A while ago, say around 2001, I wrote back to a friend something along the lines:
Quote: You're still using email?
Fmail is so much better.
Get with the times.
He responded wondering how I knew about this and why he was behind the curve, etc.
It was pretty funny, especially since it was a few years before google launched gmail, which cut into my joke a little.
I like the idea that we have a secret society and are one up on billy ... |

And we're all Norwegian! And there's a secret handshake, but I can't do the 60 deg. reverse thumb rotation anymore due to my arthritis.
Ghulam, I agree re Looper, except for the telekinetic child subplot, which felt like a bit too much to me. One weird sci-fi theme seemed enough, for my taste. |

Mitty.....Let me know how you like it.
I'm very into all the Scandanavian writers. Just read my first Henning Mankell.......after watching most of the Wallendar series. It (The Fifth Woman) was not a page turner.........more of a plodding, repetitious police procedural. My favorite is the Icelandic author, Arnauldar Indridison......I think there's a movie of Jar City......... |

| I saw Headhunters last year at Fantastic Fest. It received glowing reviews when it was released. Hard to miss if you're paying attention to movies. |
