Memorably hilarious?
A thread in one of the other Topics reminded me of the first time Sir Ralph Richardson enthralled me--the line "Too late to apologize!" in "The Wrong Box." The whole movie was pretty hilarious, but especially Richardson, the solemnly practical Michael Caine, woozy Peter Sellers blotting his inked signature with a kitten, and of course Peacock the butler....
So many great funny scenes--but I also think of Betty White in the "census taker" sketch on Saturday Night Live--she left quite a legacy. |

Blotting your signature with a kitten seems like so quintessential a Peter Sellers move. Haha! Added Wrong Box to my list.
The only A&C films I can recall seeing, back in the long ago, were the Frankenstein and the one where they travel to Venus. And the Invisible Man sendup, which I remember had a monumentally silly ending. |

Oddly enough, the film in which A & C go to Venus is "Abbott and Costello go to Mars." I guess they took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.
The Three Stooges went to Venus, too. |

First they land in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and think the costumed folks are Martians. |
