I got hooked on SJP in the movie L.A. STORY. There was something about her that really clicked with me. Plus I liked the quirkiness of the movie.

She's supposedly a really good person, and, some think, beautiful woman, but I always see Witchie-Poo, I just can't help it!

So does that mean you didn't like Sex and the City or just not Carrie Bradshaw's character?

I must admit she annoys me for "not getting a nose job" when, obviously, she has in fact had one. Compare Square Pegs photos to now. I also don't like her one-note "dumb blonde" characters, like the one in State and Main.

I'm sure she's probably also on www.awfulplasticsurgery.com as an example of good (that is, not extreme) plastic surgery.

If she had one done - it had to be the most subtle kind - her nose is still rather prominent (and natural looking)

Mean-spirited joke that made the rounds a few years ago:

Horse walks into a bar.

Bartender looks at horse, says, "Sarah Jessica Parker!"

Not cute, not accurate--plus misogynistic.

Indeed! Thanks for sharing.

For what it's worth, Quentin Tarantino thinks Uma Thurman looks like Trigger. At least in profile.

Reposting this in the right forum...

I finally saw Irreversible (only took 4 years!) Excellent film - although absolutely horrifying(realistic) in places. Belucci and Cassel's(partners in life) love scenes were some of the best I've seen in film - beautiful, intimate, natural - of course it helps that they are both so attractive (conventionally and unconventionally). But really, Europeans are just so so much better at filming these scenes than us. The film reminds me of Memento - with the reverse narrative - (and it worked so well). The initial scene is confusing, scary, twisty (that on a big screen could give a person motion sickness) - perfect for the setting, like a voyeuristic virtual reality ride. Just one SPOILER Comment

Right after the rape, when the rapist is sort of recovering, laying down after he finishes - am I the only person who was screaming at "Alex" to get up and run - I mean I understand - she's hurt in shock etc - but I was couldn't stop myself from screaming run for god sakes run !!! Which is silly because you know how it turns out - right at the beginning - but still I couldn't stop myself

She was smart. She didn't go for the button-nose which would have been obvious. But she streamlined it. I have no problem with her getting a nose job in and of itself. What I have a problem with is the pretense that she didn't, and her somewhat noble attitude in relation to it.

She really did get a nose job - I've seen plenty of before and after pictures. But I wasn't aware that she's made any pretenses about NOT getting one done.
I agree that it's annoying when people (and there are many) pretend they haven't had plastic surgery done. If it makes you look better, why not do it...and why lie about it??

P.S. A looong time ago, Patrick Dempsey admitted he'd had some kind of plastic surgery done. He just didn't say what it was!!

And now he's Dr. McDreamy.

my next comment on this is moving to The Lobby...

I saw something in People mag about male celebrities who've had work done. It told what Dempsey has had done and it's nothing major. Something about fixing a receding hairline, maybe? Eyelid surgery? I forget. But nothing big. Basic anti-aging stuff.

Fixing? How is that broken? I'd have my hairline surgically removed but that's already been taken care of.
