What your Netflix Q's should look like:
1. White Ribbon
2. Mary & Max
3. Seance on a Wet Afternoon
4. Un Prophete
5. Facing Ali
6. As it Is In Heaven

Quote: Marc--In fact, this movie almost defines a very impressive form of "high camp," finding that line between emotional honesty and looney sentimentality that is difficult to hit.
The ending has to be seen to be believed. |

No, your Netflix queue should be full of Coen Brothers films. |

I re-edited this video and I'm very happy with the results. Getting the dancers and their handclaps to synchronize with the beat of music was like performing heart surgery.

I saw I Know People on TV this afternoon. Well, the last half. It's quite a mess. There is something there and the cast is good, though Pacino's character is so fucked up, he's hard to watch, but it goes nowhere and leaves so many things unanswered and confused that it just lies there. It could have been a very good movie but the execution was trying so hard to be profound, artsy and societally revealing that it's just frustrating.
Highly unrecommended. |

Yes. I typed it in correctly on Imdb.

Of course It might have helped if I saw the first half, but maybe not. |

You're right about it. I did see it and was intrigued anew about how Pacino gets himself involved in some of this cockamamie projects. |

A must read for Couch With A View:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/23/movies/23scott.html?8dpc
I am happy to say that I can really relate to this. In 1960 in one of my many stays in New York (Brooklyn) I would often take the 7th Ave. Express at the Utica Ave. station up to Times Square in the early evening. From there I would walk the streets checking out what movies were showing and pick one to see. It didn't matter to me then, what time the movie had started. One night I hadn't found a theatre yet that had something that interested me. Then I got to The Paris which was and still is I believe, a theatre right next to The plaza on 58th St. The movie was Breathless. I'd never heard of it and looked at the posters on the outside of the theatre. My reaction, "This looks interesting." I entered the theatre when a scene of a couple were having an active time under the bed covers. I knew right then that I was right, it was interesting. I watched it till the end and then waited till the next showing to complete the picture and watched it till the end for a second time. I couldn't get over how terrific this movie was. I couldn't get over how out of the ordinary it was. Never heard of it or it's maker, but for me it was an instant classic and would remain one. In my top ten favourites. I couldn't wait to tell everyone I knew to see this movie. |
