Wow. All Is Bright was absolutely destined to proceed under my radar save for this post. Now I am putting it on my "must-see" list. |

Metacritic has 26 critics scoring 100 for Gravity! This must be a record.

Alfonso Cuarón 's "Gravity" is a space thriller with wonderful cinematography in 3-D and extraordinary CGI. It keeps you on the edge of the seat throughout its 90 minutes. Probably the best space movie since "2001: Space Odyssey".

I agree with Ghulam 100 percent.
Friday night I sat next to two women who were literally sitting on the front edge of their seat thru the entirety of GRAVITY. They were leaning forward into the film with their hands over their mouths. At one point, when Bullock's character is suddenly hurled into jeopardy, the two ladies momentarily levitated. I kid you not.
As I looked around the theater, most of the audience were sitting in their seats dumbstruck or leaning forward into space. I've never seen an audience so physically engaged in a movie. This was the Imax 3D version, the only way to see it. |

I'll have to check the IMAX theater and see if it's a-coming.
Seems like the kind of non-political, non-threatening film they'd allow here. |

| I will be seeing it in regular 3D on Monday, but probably will see the IMAX version at a later date. Not gonna miss this chance to see it soon. |

I'll be seeing it either Sunday or Wednesday. Sounds like my kind of film. |

It opened nationally last night. Ease off on the hair-trigger, there.
Syd, I know you're a member of OK Space Alliance....also do something related at OU? Astronomy/Astrophysics? It's interesting to me to go back and read 50s and 60s sci-fi, and realize how much farther along with space travel the hard SF masters like Clarke thought we would be by now. The description of Clavius Base (built in 1994) in "2001" e.g. |

| For me, a real hardcore film buff is the kind of person (me, for instance) who shows up on opening day for a film like GRAVITY. I've always done it. It really is part of the thrill of going to the movies. The vibe is different. The level of audience excitement is higher. I like being among the first to experience something extraordinary. |
